The Manaslu trekking route might be one of the closest mountain adventures to Kathmandu but is could hardly be further from the frenetic pace of life in the valley. It’s a kaleidoscope of colors, vegetation, Landscapes will be etched into the memory forever. Make no mistake trekking around manaslu is hard and relentless. During our trek in the cold of late November at least 40% of the trekkers we met turned back from larkya phedi or samdo for a variety of reasons altitude bed health extreme tiredness and a short, isolated spell of bed weather. Perhaps in the warmer seasons the dropout rate would be less let’s think so. That said the joys of trek far outweigh the hardships.
